New Board in Oslo Cruise Network

Simultaneously as the Oslo Cruise Network presents its new board, is it reported that both 2011 and 2012 appears to be new record years for cruise to Oslo.


After the election at the recent Annual Meeting, the board of Oslo Cruise Network has the following members:

- Rino Ødegård, Managing Director H.M.K, Chairman
- Paal Kjelsrud, Managing Director TR Shipping
- Maja Bauge, Director Kon-Tiki Museum
- Alexander Steger, Manager Shore Excursions, European Cruise Service
- Anne-Britt Pedersen, Managing Director Oslo Cruiseterminal
- Bente Borvik, Sales Manager Norway, RCCL

Record this year and next year
Oslo Cruise Network reports that 178 calls with about 320 000 passengers are expected this year, which is a 22% increase in passengers from 2010. Preliminary figures for next year show that 2012 could be even better.

New for Oslo is that 36 cruise ships will overnight. This gives passengers the chance to venture on new experiences as well as the city gets new revenue opportunities.

Challenges ahead
Important tasks for the Cruise Network now is to continue to develop Oslo as a cruise destination. Already in 2011, there are days when there are multiple parallel calls and full utilization of today's cruise piers in the city.
