MSC Cruises is doing partial turnarounds in Bergen on June 13 and July 7 for the first time.

MSC Opera will take on Norwegian passengers for an eight-day UK, Netherlands and Norway cruise on both occasions. In the past, smaller ships such as Hebridean Spirit have done turnarounds.

The port has 11 ships calling for the first time this year including AIDAblu, Cunard Line’s Queen Elizabeth, Silversea Cruises’ Prince Albert II, Costa Pacifica and Oceania Cruises’ newbuilding Marina.

Princess Cruises’ Dawn Princess will call Bergen on her world cruise on July 19, the only Norwegian port on the 104-day itinerary.
In total there will be 163 calls and 360,000 passengers in 2011.
