The Norwegian Maritime Museum is situated right on the Oslo waterfront, in a pleasant park area - Bygdøynes. Our widescreen movie The Ocean - a way of life gives the audience a trip along the coast of Norway in 20 minutes. Be impressed by the scenic nature accompanied by beautiful music! The Norwegian Maritime Museum has a varied seasonal program and various maritime exhibitions. The Coastal Norway exhibition present Norway`s coastal culture through a large collection of traditional vernacular vessels, fishing gear-, boatbuilding- and stockfish-displays. The unique picture collection displays seascape paintings by famous Norwegian artists. In the museums main building the seafaring history of Norway is presented. Experience ship interiors, ship models, marine archaeological objects - accompanied by a magnificent panoramic view of the inner Oslofjord.
